“The superseding indictment alleges that Assange was complicit with Chelsea Manning, a former intelligence analyst in the U.S. Army, in unlawfully obtaining and disclosing classified documents related to the national defense. “
Two brothers wrote and directed the Matrix films. But when Wired reported on the 25th anniversary, they mentioned the Wachowski siblings, but referred to at least one of them as her.
“Its writers were Lilly and Lana Wachowski, two self-described “schmoes from Chicago” who, in later years, would be referred to by many colleagues and admirers simply as “the Wachowskis.” “
In both of these cases, the people involved were born as males. They did some stuff, as males. Bradley Manning did the Wikileaks thing. Larry and Andy Wachowski wrote and directed The Matrix. The films’ credits listed “The Wachowski Brothers” as the writers and directors.
This is truly Orwellian. In 1984, the hero, Winston Smith, works in the Records Department of the Ministry of Truth as an editor, revising historical records, to make the past conform to the ever-changing party line and deleting references to unpersons, people who have been “vaporized”, i.e., not only killed by the state but denied existence even in history or memory.
In other words, his job is to change historical fact to make it more in line with the current political zeitgeist. How is saying that Chelsea Manning was involved with the exposure of military data anything different from what the Ministry of Truth did? Wired Magazine states that “Lana and Lilly would both eventually drop out of college; afterward, they worked at a construction company they’d cofounded”. Um, no. That was Larry and Andy who dropped out of college. How is Wired not complicit in re-writing history?
I don’t care what you do to your body. None of my business. The problem I have is with the press, that is so paranoid of SJW wrath that it re-writes history.
I believe George Orwell wrote 1984 as a warning, not as an instruction manual.
Make Orwell Fiction Again.
